Sasha Popova’s collaboration with Maxim magazine represents a defining moment in her visual career. The first cover in 2015, where she appeared solo, embodies classic erotica in the spirit of iconic men’s magazines — golden skin, windblown hair, a desert backdrop — evoking a visual poetry of summer and seduction. The 2020 series, as part of the group Fabrika, takes a richer, ethnically styled and theatrical direction, blending sensuality with cultural aesthetics.
Both sessions were produced by Maxim's in-house team: the first (2015) photographed by Oleg Zotov, and the second (2020) by Alexander Multikov. The shoots stand out for their high-end production values, meticulously chosen costumes and settings, and flawless post-processing. Working in such an environment was a valuable experience for Sasha and helped further shape her media image.
Maxim is one of the world’s leading men’s magazines, known for its blend of erotica, humor, and celebrity features. The Russian edition, part of the global network, regularly publishes visual stories with actresses, singers, and models, often setting benchmarks in mass media visual culture.
